Over-trimming or topping does lasting damage to a tree. We follow proven arborist practices so every cut serves the long-term health of the tree.

Good pruning is subtraction, done with a reason for every cut. We clear deadwood, take out crossing and rubbing limbs, open the canopy enough for light and air to move through it, and lift the crown off roofs, drives, and walkways. What we do not do is strip a tree back to stubs and call it a trim.

On younger trees, a light structural prune every few years is the cheapest tree work you will ever buy. Set the branch structure early and you avoid the co-dominant leaders and included bark that turn into a storm failure, and an expensive removal, fifteen years later.
